Waleed Ghobashy

Dr. Waleed Ghobashy is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon and an Assistant Professor of ophthalmology with special interest in cataract and vision correction surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi. He has more than 19 years of regional and international experience in treating comprehensive eye conditions and utilizing the latest technologies to improve patient’s outcomes. Dr. Waleed, holds an MBBCh, MSc, MD, PhD (2005) in Ophthalmology from the Faculty of Medicine, Suez Canal University, Egypt. He subsequently completed his clinical fellowship with Dr. Steven Sterling MD, in Knoxville Tennessee, USA in 2007. During his career, Dr. Waleed practiced in Egypt, USA, Bahrain and UAE and in 2014, he achieved the title of Assistant Professor of ophthalmology, Suez Canal University, Egypt. He has researched and published several papers in many regional and international scientific journals including the International Journal of Ophthalmology, the International Journal of Ophthalmic Research and the European Journal of Pharmacology among others. Dr. Waleed is a member of many ophthalmology associations, and a speaker in the annual meetings of the most prestigious ophthalmological societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS), the Egyptian Society of Ophthalmology (ESO) and the Emirates Society of Ophthalmology.
